Editura CORESI
Where our publishing story began.
Some names become part of a country’s cultural memory.
Founded in 1990 by Romanian writer, translator, lexicographer, and publisher Vasile Poenaru, Editura CORESI became the foundation of a publishing tradition that continues today through CORESI Publishing House.
From its earliest publications, the imprint embraced literature, educational works, children’s books, dictionaries, professional publications, and reference works, gradually building a catalogue distinguished by editorial care, intellectual curiosity, and a lasting respect for the written word.
For many readers, the name Editura CORESI evokes memories of the first books they ever held in their hands. Those children have grown into adults, parents, teachers, and sometimes authors themselves. We are proud that the books which accompanied one generation continue to inspire the next.
Much has changed since those first books left the printing press, yet the principles that shaped Editura CORESI remain unchanged: respect for authors, thoughtful editorial work, and the conviction that every well-crafted book deserves its place in the world.
