A Publishing Tradition.
An Innovative Spirit.

Before the first .ro domain existed,

CORESI was already publishing books—

and we never stopped
looking beyond the printed page.

1990 — The Beginning of a Publishing Journey

Editura Coresi is founded by Romanian writer, translator, and lexicographer Vasile Poenaru, establishing an independent publishing house dedicated to literature, education, and culture.

1991 — A New Chapter in Publishing

Publishing activities continue under the newly incorporated CORESI S.R.L., reflecting the transformation of Romanian publishing after 1989 and the emergence of independent publishers.

1994 — Publishing Meets the Internet

CORESI enters the Internet era with the registration of coresi.ro, becoming the first Romanian publishing house to establish an online presence. Founder Vasile Poenaru becomes the first Romanian publisher to integrate email into professional publishing, anticipating the profound impact digital communication would have on the publishing industry.

2000s — Expanding the Editorial Vision

The CORESI publishing programme grows to include literature, children’s books, educational titles, dictionaries, language learning resources, and professional publications, building a diverse catalogue for readers of all ages.

2005 — Reaching Beyond Borders

The registration of coresi.net marks the expansion of CORESI’s digital presence and supports the development of international publishing activities and connections with readers and partners beyond Romania.

2014 — Continuing the CORESI Legacy

Following a period of transformation, the publishing activity continues under EDITURA CORESI S.R.L., ensuring continuity of the CORESI editorial programme and preserving a publishing heritage built over more than two decades.

2017 — A New International Identity

CORESI Publishing House becomes the international identity of the publishing group, opening a new chapter in its history through international publishing projects, translation programmes, rights management, and partnerships.

Today — A Living Publishing Tradition

With more than 2,000 published titles, multiple publishing imprints, and readers in Romania and abroad, CORESI continues to develop literature, educational resources, international editions, translation programmes, and long-term partnerships with authors, educators, institutions, and publishers.
